    Table d'hôtes  
The pleasure of eating is part of the French lifestyle. We pay a lot of attention to the evening meals that we serve for our guests. Jerome is a passionate cook who likes to impress his guests. As a selfmade cook he has specialized himself in dishes that have their origins in Burgundy. At the ' table d’hôtes' (guests table) we eat together in a relaxed atmosphere. This allows mutual exchange of (holiday) experiences and often results in spontaneous discussions.

Five times a week you can join us for a 4-course dinner. We try to use local ingredients and buy local wines.

 
      Wine     Restaurants
 

Wednesday and Sunday night we don't offer our table d'hôtes. However you can enjoy the Burgundy kitchen in the neighbourhood. Below a personal selection of favourite restaurants. It goes without saying that this list is not exhaustive.

La queue du lac.

This restaurant at the Lake of Settons is one of our favourites for a Sunday lunch. You can eat outside under parasols or inside in a small and cosy diningroom. The menu offer basic but honest food and the daily special is good value for money. The restaurant is a bit hidden and not always found by the tourists.

  Say Burgundy, think Wine. We like to introduce some of these great wines to our guests. At the table d'hôtes we offer a selection of them so you can make your own choice. As tastes differ, we have both 'simple' Beaujolais or Chardonnay wines in cans (at 4 euro) as superior 1er Cru wines. For example our Saint-Aubin 1er Cru (at 14 euro a botle) or Puligny-Montrachet (20 euro). We buy the wines locally and you can visit our suppliers to taste for yourself.

Le Chapitre
A small restaurant opposite the cathedral of Autun. A young French couple runs the place and with success. He's a quality chef and she is the friendly hostess. Reservations are needed as the restaurants is tiny.

Marie Boissy
On the motorway to Chalon-sur-Saône you'll find 'Marie Boissy'. This restaurant is typical for the region and offers a classic menu. French like to go to this restaurant when celebrating a family event. The service is friendly and the food good quality.  

Les Remparts
In Autun we also favorize Les Remparts. This restaurant is situated a little outside the touristic centre but is worth a detour. The food is quite sophisticated and the ambiance not bad.

Chez Daché
Only 5 kilometers from La Mortaise you'll find Auberge Chez Daché. An oldtime favourite for both local people and tourists with good food and huge portions: a starter and main course will serve an entire family. Daché serves local specialities among which the veal's head that you may want to avoid.
